Der Workshop ist in zwei Teile gegliedert – in ein allgemeines Forum mit Kurzpr\u00e4sentationen und einer Podiumsdiskussion einerseits und eine Arbeit in Kleingruppen andererseits. Thematisiert werden dabei auch die unterschiedlichen Fragestellungen, Schwierigkeiten und Chancen der beiden Geschlechter, Fragen der Work-Life-Balance und der Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf.<\/p>\n

2. \u201eHothouse 3.0. A Structuralist Exhibition\u201c<\/a><\/p>\n

This seminar will serve as a practical introduction into structuralist art. Lead by the renowed Czech artist Jaroslav Vancat, a pupil of the computer art pioneer Zdenek Sykora, students will work on an art project that will be presented in a public exhibition.<\/p>\n

This special opportunity is offered due to the 10th<\/sup> anniversary of the German-Czech Society’s presence in the Palm House. An artistic approach from a structuralist point of view deeply informed by early computer art is particularly appropriate within this architectural setting. Plants provide a richness of form that is uniform on the one hand but variant on the other. Floral forms strictly follow abstract geometric rules while tolerating a broadness of chance moments and seemingly randam variants. They are ornamental without being ornaments themselves. Therefore, not only decorative art and landscape painting but mathematics and computer graphics have always been interested in plants and their laws of form and growth. So, students are offered the opportunity to get an artistic hothouse growing.<\/p>\n
